LOCATED ON WEST SAN ANTONIO STREET is this unique, one-of-a-kind limestone home with a welcoming front porch, flanked by a cedar stay fence between stone pillars and a double wrought iron gate leading to the large backyard. From it's humble beginnings in 1853, when according to history books, the German Emigration Company sold this lot for $16 to Wilhelm Doebbler. Doebbler then "flipped" the lot in 1871 to Martin Heinemann for $100 and he began building the home with limestone rock quarried nearby, and completed it in 1873-74. The home was then sold in 1911 and had been in control of the same family until 2006 when the estate sold to the current owner.

The original structure was expanded in 1945 and again in 1968. Still original to the home is the front, double wooden door with wrought iron latch. Inside is the largest of the two original rooms to the home, this has been used as the living room and features a large bay window in the east wall providing a view of the front courtyard. Also still original to the home is the fireplace in the den and the stairs going to the loft which has been used as a bedroom and has its own bath. The home now consists of 3288 SF (GCAD) with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths.

Thru the den you find the kitchen/dining room and a large area the previous owners called the garden room. This area has floor to ceiling sliding glass doors on three sides which give you the views over the covered patio and into the large backyard area. When you consider that the home is built close to the street, that leaves a lot of room on this 138' x 200' lot.

An outdoor entertainment area with a pool, a garden area and landscaping opportunities are endless when you have lot of this size to work with. Wouldn't a log cabin guest house look great in the NE corner? To add more charm, in the NW corner of the property is the classic barn with gambrel roof design and a paddock in the front and back. Inside are stalls where horses and perhaps a milk cow were kept at the turn of the century (the turn that took place over 100 year ago) as well as a feed room and loft area above for hay storage.
